Things to keep in mind.
LOCS are a growing process of not only your hair but also your mind and will.
I have been on this journey 4 separate times over the last 7 yrs. This last one being the longest going on 2 1/2 yrs.

My hair texture like most multiracial people I know is soft and with medium to loose curl patterns , yet tangles very easily. Similar to my cousins and friends hair who have what I think is the ideal hair to lock because of how little maintenance it takes to lock. Which unlike mine has tight to medium curl pattern and doesn't slip and come undone as much as mine did when twisted. A easy way to avoid so much unraveling is to have your hair teased by a loctician. I personally never had mine done but have seen people who have , and they all say it helped out a lot. Especially in the beginning stages.

I think the hardest part of it is the beginning. The part where you have to learn to be comfortable in your own skin. Know that you are going to have the ugly duckling stage before you hit the swan JACKPOT....
As I continue to post on this blog I will enlighten you how to prevent many problems I ran into while beginning locs. Also some tips, tricks & products to make your experience a positive one.
